4 kids, 3 jobs, 2 people, 1 life... BLAST OFF!!!

A major award-winning production company is now casting for an exciting new series featuring online moms. This groundbreaking show will showcase the untapped world of social media, moms and bloggers and the incredible influence they wield in our society. Project Mom Casting is holding auditions for possible stars of a new reality show for bloggers.

Many of you have been with me as I started this journey through blogging just a short year ago and have seen the growth of My Chicago Mommy and my own growth as a result of it. Many of you also know that being a blogger is just one aspect of my life. With four kids, a loving husband, and four jobs between us, life is always an adventure for us. I think I would have a lot to offer in a show.

One thing that has amazed me since getting into this whole "social media" thing is how it can connect people. It's great when you see the good it can do for people. I started blogging because I wanted to share my passion for saving with others and to show them how to do it for their own families. In just one short year, I've had people tell me how it has changed their households and the way they shop. Also, it has sparked conversations with their friends who have gotten bitten by the "savings" bug. It has brought people together by sharing deals with each other and at times even encouraged charity amongst each other. Just think of the things you've donated that you were able to get at a savings. As much as possible, I try to share ways to pay it forward to help the community and others.

Most importantly, I have seen how social media affects our future generations. My kids are super-involved and interested in my blogging life and have also shown their interest in blogging when they get older. They've had the opportunity to be involved in projects and events they otherwise would not have ever know and they share it with their friends, who share it with their parents.

What would make my show interesting? Follow me around for a day. It starts out very early when everyone is asleep and involves a great juggling act of finding the time to do my work, feed the kids, do the laundry, take the kids to school/summer camp/activities, etc., find time to enjoy the kids and my hubby, and most of all, make connections and relationships with those around me! Life is an adventure and I make sure that every day is worth it! It can be insanity with four kids, three jobs, two people, and one life, but it can also be FUN!

Aside from my blog, my other two jobs are teaching money-saving classes at libraries, park districts, public places, and in homes, and I am also the Overall French Program Coordinator for the Share America International Exchange program, where high school students from France for summer and academic visits. In addition, I find the time to be active in two mothers' groups and my children's schools. I am also the Public Relations Officer for a community group. Through these experiences, I've been able to meet some wonderful people and give back to different organizations. The biggest reward in life is making a difference in someone else's life and putting a smile on their face. It's something I hope my kids will learn and pass along.

So, it would be an honor for me to represent all those hard-working, fun-loving bloggers out there who do it because they love it and love the people they are doing it for!
