March 17 CHICAGO St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival—The Chicago River is dyed green for the St. Patrick's Day Parade celebration. The parade starts at Balbo and Columbus drives, then proceeds north on Columbus and the viewing stand is located in front of Buckingham Fountain. Location: Columbus Drive. Contact: (312) 421-1010.
March 17 DIXON St. Patrick's Day Parade—Following the parade there will be a celebration at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Location: Downtown. Contact: (815) 284-1664. Free.
March 17 ROCK ISLAND St. Patrick Society's St. Patrick's Day Grand Parade—This interstate parade route goes from Rock Island, Illinois, across the Mississippi River via Centennial Bridge and through Davenport, Iowa. Location: Begins at St. Mary's Church. Contact: (309) 788-2341. Free.
