The Chicago Travel & Adventure is the place to be if you are thinking about traveling any time in the near future.  It is also a great place to check out if you want to experience some things that you don;t readily find in Chicago like sled dogs and a heated 15,000-gallon scuba tank for diving.  There will also be great guest speakers such as Rick Steves who has traveled the world a hundred times over and can provide you with great travel tips.

I have been given 10 pairs of tickets to share with my readers so that you can experience this adventure for yourself.  Keep in mind kids under 16 are free so this can be an easy way to experience something new with your family!  Attached below is the official press release for the event!

2013 TRAVEL AND ADVENTURE SHOW BRINGS THE WORLD  TO YOU

CHICAGO (December 17, 2012) – Interact with SeaWorld’s penguins and sled dogs in the morning and scuba dive in the afternoon.  Attend inspirational travel seminars with Rick Steves about Europe and Patricia Schultz about 1,000 Places To See Before You Die. Taste international cuisine, see flamboyant dance performances and hear exotic foreign songs. It’s all possible without leaving town (or spending much money.) The 2013 Travel & Adventure Show is your ticket to adventure when it journeys to Chicago January 26-27.

Last year’s show set an attendance record, with more than 18,000 guests, and the 2013 show brings fresh excitement and enticing attractions, like SeaWorld’s Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin (opening in Orlando in 2013.)
There’s a heated, 15,000-gallon scuba tank for diving, Alaskan Sledding Dogs waiting to greet you, plus multiple theaters for cooking, music and dance events.

More than 150 exhibitors from around the world will also be at your service, presenting everything from weekend getaways to dream escapes. Plan to sleep in a cabin in the Redwoods or take an 80-day drive on the Silk Road. The possibilities are endless.

“Planning a vacation has never been more fun. Being the country’s largest series of travel shows, this is a must-see travel extravaganza,” said John Golicz, CEO of Unicomm, which produces the event in five cities nationally. “Whether you want to trek the rainforests of Costa Rica or discover nearby attractions in Wisconsin and Michigan, there is something for everyone.”

Your guidebook to the show directs you to:
·         Travel Experts– the travel celebrities Rick Steves and Patricia Schultz are just a few of the experts who will be on hand, with two full days of discussions, presentations and workshops planned
·         Hands-On Activities – scuba pool, and SeaWorld’s Antarctic Experience are all free
·         Culinary Theater – you can taste the international flair – literally – as chefs demonstrate their best recipes from far-flung lands
·         Global Beats Stage – non-stop musical and dance performances representing cultures around the world (with many in full costume) will entertain and intrigue
·         Dream Destinations – representatives will be on hand from U.S. locales (including Alaska and Hawaii), as well as experts who can help plan trips to Africa, Antarctica, Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, India, Mexico, the UK – even Yap Island in the western Pacific Ocean

The show takes place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. It opens Saturday, January 26, from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m., and Sunday, January 27, from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. (The show opens at 9:30 a.m. Saturday for travel professionals.) Tickets are $9 online (with Promo Code:  CHPR) or $15 at the Door. Kids 16 years old and under are free of charge.
