Beginning February 18th, the price to get a new Amazon Prime Yearly Membership is increasing from $119 to $139 per year. Existing members will see the increase in their renewal price starting March 25th. Monthly memberships will also be affected- you'll get a $2 increase in price from $12.99 to $14.99.
Here's how to avoid the increase:
If you already have an Amazon Prime membership and want to skip the price increase, consider buying yourself a Gift Membership (it just has to be redeemed within 3 years)! Head here to purchase a year of Amazon Prime at the current rate of $119. Then head to your account settings and turn off your auto-renew.
Once your membership expires, you'll be able to apply the Gift Membership to your account and get a full year of Prime for the $119 rate.
